Economic Development

Northwest Arkansas and Rogers and Lowell continue to be a great place for businesses and residents to thrive.  At this moment there is well over $60 million in private development occurring within our two cities, not including public funded projects like road construction and quality of life amenities.  Rogers leads Benton County in job growth with over 1,090 jobs created through April, and also population growth at over 1,350 new residents in 2014.  Benton County leads the nation in wage growth at 9.9% for 2014 and the average household income in Rogers has grown by over $8,000 in three years.

A spirit of entrepreneurship flows through our area, resulting in the strength of three industry leaders headquartered in Northwest Arkansas: Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., J.B. Hunt Transport Inc., and Tyson Foods, Inc.  Many other Fortune 500 companies have offices in our area where they enjoy our low unemployment rate, below average cost of living, and a highly skilled workforce.

Manufacturing also plays a major role in our community with major makers and shakers operating within our cities.  Companies like Bekaert Corporation, First Brands Corporation/Clorox, Kennametal, Inc., and Preformed Line Products, just to name a few.
