Fresh off their “America’s Got Talent” appearance at the end of August, soul duo The War And Treaty will kick off their U.S. tour when they return to Walton Arts Center on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 7 pm.
The Northwest Arkansas performance will feature music from their new EP, Country Baptism, including the title track they debuted on AGT as well as the previously released “It’ll Hurt Me More Than It’ll Hurt You.”
Their latest work, released in June, seeks to expand Ray Charles’ idea that the best music exists in the tension between sacred sounds and secular desires. “For Michael and me, it’s important to show the combination of rawness and sweetness that underlies our soulful sound,” said Tonya Trotter.
The War and Treaty are industry favorites and are known for breaking boundaries and crossing genres to create exceptional music. They are the first black duo to be nominated for a Country Music Award and to perform at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The two-time Grammy nominees also performed a tribute to Lauryn Hill at the 2026 BET Award.
Twelve years after their founding, Michael and Tanya Trotter’s combined musical and emotional intelligence allows their new songs to gently but firmly address the world’s complexities.
