Celebrate the beauty of an autumn garden through watercolor painting on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Rogers Historical Museum! Inspired by the Victorian love of botanical art, this relaxing, hands-on class presented by the Benton County Master Gardeners will introduce simple watercolor techniques while creating artwork featuring seasonal flowers, colorful leaves, and other treasures from the fall garden.
No matter if you’re an experienced artist or have never picked up a paintbrush, you’ll enjoy an afternoon of creativity in the beautiful setting of the historic 1895 Hawkins House. You’ll leave with your own botanical watercolor and inspiration to continue exploring nature through art.
Attendees are invited to come early for a free guided tour of the Vera’s Victorian Garden from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., led by a Benton County Master Gardener. Located just south of the historic Hawkins House, the garden is a Master Gardener project—designed, installed, and maintained in partnership with the Rogers Historical Museum—and the recipient of the 2024 Arkansas Master Gardeners Project of the Year.
Whether you come for the garden tour, the creative session, or both, this event offers a welcoming way to slow down and enjoy the beauty of the season. This program is free and open to the public. Painting supplies provided. No registration is required.
