Moulin Rouge! The Musical celebrates over 160 years of music – from Offenbach to Lady Gaga. The stage musical features many of the iconic songs from the Baz Luhrmann 2001 movie as well as recent hits released since the movie premiered 21 years ago. This theatrical celebration of Truth, Beauty, Freedom and - above all - Love is more than a musical; it is a state of mind.
The musical features more than 70 songs by 160 composers, making it “the jukebox musical to end all jukebox musicals,” says Time Out New York. “It’s hard to imagine how it can be topped.” With the song “Elephant Love Medley” featuring 19 songs in just over five minutes, and the crowd-favorite Act 2 opener “Backstage Romance,” audiences are sure to experience pop music in a brand-new way.
The Grammy®-nominated Moulin Rouge! The Musical Original Broadway Cast Recording debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Cast Album chart. The soundtrack, with hit songs like “Firework” by Katy Perry, “Your Song” by Elton John and “Chandelier” by Sia, is “so stuffed with songs and sheer outrageous excess that it’s hard to catch a breath,” says Entertainment Weekly.
