Published Wednesday, May 13, 2026 8:30 am

Garden enthusiasts, history lovers, and the simply curious are invited to step into a more poetic side of gardening at The Meaning of Flowers on Saturday, June 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Rogers Historical Museum, Key Wing Education Center, Rogers, AR.

This engaging program explores the Victorian tradition of floriography—the language of flowers—where blooms carried messages of love, admiration, friendship, and sentiment. Attendees will discover the stories and symbolism behind beloved flowers such as dahlias and nasturtiums, and gain insight into how entire conversations once unfolded through carefully chosen arrangements.

Adding to the experience, participants will have the opportunity to create a message of their own, thoughtfully composed in the language of flowers, offering a hands-on connection to this timeless tradition.

Presented by the Benton County Master Gardeners. This program is free and open to the public. No registration required.
