Walton Arts Center Announces Diamond Award Finalists

May 23 Ceremony Will Showcase the Best Musical Theater Talent from Area High Schools

Walton Arts Center announced today the student finalists for the 2025-26 Diamond Awards. The annual musical theater award program culminates with the Diamond Awards Ceremony on Saturday, May 23 at 5 pm. 
 
The award ceremony will feature showcases of performances from participating schools’ musicals, and awards will be presented for best actor and best actress, best supporting cast, outstanding vocal, dance or acting performance and best ensemble. An outstanding musical theater educator will also be recognized with the Sparkle Award.   
  
Modeled after Broadway’s Tony Awards®, Walton Arts Center’s Diamond Awards recognize achievement and excellence in musical theater among local high school students. This program qualifies the best actress and actor winners to compete in New York City at the Broadway League Foundation’s National High School Musical Theatre Awards®, “The Jimmy Awards®."   
 
Nominees were selected from the following adjudicated school performances:   
   
Alma High School - Footloose the Musical   
  • Best Lead Actress: Elizabeth Marine (Ariel Moore), Morgan English (Rusty), Cali Ferguson (Vi Moore)

The Sparkle Award for Outstanding Arts Educator 
Like a diamond, teachers sparkle and shine their light on students, igniting a spark in them to grow and excel. To shine light back on the teachers that help put students in the spotlight, this award is to recognize an outstanding arts educator.
