City of Rogers Announces Update to Youth Sports Programming

The City of Rogers is taking an initial step to strengthen and streamline youth programming in the community. Following action by the Rogers City Council on Tuesday night, the City has approved funding to support staffing and expenses needed to fully operate Rogers Activity Center (RAC) programming under the City’s Parks and Recreation Department.

For decades, the RAC has been operated through a partnership between the City of Rogers and Rogers Community School Recreation Association, a nonprofit organization. The RAC has been a cornerstone of youth sports, camps, and after-school care in Rogers. Generations of families have participated in programs offered through the center, making it a valued part of the community.

“As our city continues to grow, it’s important that we deliver programs in a way that is consistent, sustainable, and built for the future. This step allows us to do that while continuing to serve families at a high level.”
Greg Hines, Mayor of Rogers

Coleta Paris, Executive Director of the Rogers Activity Center, said the transition reflects a natural next step for the organization.

“The RAC has been an important part of this community for a long time, and that’s not changing. This transition allows the City to carry that work forward and build on it. We support this move and are confident these programs will continue to serve families well.”

Programs, schedules, and day-to-day operations will continue as they are today during the transition period from the nonprofit to a City of Rogers operation. Additional details, including any future updates to registration processes or programming structures, will be communicated as plans are finalized.

“We understand that the RAC means a lot to this community. Our priority is a smooth transition that keeps programs running without disruption while we thoughtfully plan for the future.”
Quinton Harris, Director, Rogers Parks & Recreation

The City encourages residents to stay informed through official City communication channels and to reach out with questions.
