Eureka Springs, Ark., (April 16, 2026) — Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge (TCWR) is proud to announce it has been awarded the 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid, the highest level of recognition for nonprofit accountability and impact.
This distinction places TCWR among a select group of nonprofits nationwide that demonstrate exceptional transparency by openly sharing financial data, measurable outcomes, and the real-world impact of their work.
For more than 30 years, Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge has been a leading voice in the rescue and lifetime care of over 600 captive big cats and other wildlife. The Platinum Seal reinforces TCWR’s commitment to ensuring supporters can clearly see how their contributions directly improve the lives of animals rescued from neglect, abuse, and exploitation.
“Transparency is a responsibility we take seriously,” said Tanya Smith, Founder and President of Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. “Every rescue has a story, and every dollar entrusted to us helps provide lifelong care, safety, and dignity for these animals. We want our supporters to see that impact clearly.”
This recognition follows a recent national honor, with TCWR named the #2 Best Safari Park in the United States in the USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards.
“These milestones reflect the compassion and commitment of our supporters, staff, and volunteers,” said Smith. “Together, we are giving big cats a second chance—and a future they deserve.”
