Start March the right way with entertaining shows at Walton Arts Center. From a celebration of dance with BODYTRAFFIC, to big laughs with Brad Upton and soulful sounds from Sunny Sweeney, there is a show for everyone to enjoy.

BODYTRAFFIC is an internationally renowned Los Angeles dance company founded in 2007 with a simple goal: get the world moving. You can experience their live show on Thursday, March 5 at 7 pm. Tickets are $10.

Challenge, passion, empathy, inclusion and growth are at the heart are at the heart of everything BODYTRAFFIC does. A forward-thinking company, BODYTRAFFIC is not driven by a single choreographic voice. It aims to endorse established and new voices and be a home for an eclectic range of styles and perspectives that tell vital stories. Connecting individuals with vastly different life experiences through dance, the company has toured the world and continues to deepen its investment in its home city. It seeks to elevate dance beyond an art form to a mode of exploration and celebration of ideas and spirit through movement. Because, after all, without movement, nothing changes.

Brad Upton is a beloved comedian with a career spanning over 37 years. Next up in The Comedy Zone series, Upton is ready to make you laugh on Thursday, March 5 at 7:30 pm. Cabaret, club table and tiered seating are $28.75.

A former fourth grade teacher and part-time track coach, Upton is experiencing resurgence unlike anyone else. His 2019 Dry Bar comedy special, Boomer Triggers Gen-Z Snowflakes with 16.1 million views on YouTube, is the second most viewed comedy special on the planet. The viral phenomenon sent the album to the top of the iTunes charts and drove his ensuing special I’m Not Done Yet to new heights. Collectively, the clips and full specials have garnered well over 200 million views across all platforms and continue to build momentum from newfound fans across the country.

If you are looking for a master of hole-in-the-wall performances with serious songwriting chops, don’t miss Sunny Sweeney on Friday, March 6 at 7:30 pm. Tiered seating is $43.70 and very limited tickets remain.

Sunny Sweeney is something of a rarity with barroom cred, mainstream validation and songs meaty enough for listening rooms. Just as comfortable commanding a stadium stage on tour with Bob Segar as she is pouring her heart out from a listening-room stool, she is an outlier. A humble East Texas kid with super-star chops, singing her own songs made up of equal parts wit, soul and hard truth have earned her praise from the Rolling Stones, NPR, American Songwriter and more. With seven albums, Sweeney has drawn a loyal following and experienced the business from every angle. She produces smart country music that likes to have its rock and honky tonk too.
