Finalists have been announced for the annual VoiceJam Competition, produced by Walton Arts Center. Eight groups from across the country will come together at 7:30 pm on Saturday, April 11, to vie for the title of VoiceJam grand champion.

Local a cappella fans also have several opportunities to make their Pitch Perfect dreams come true leading up to the annual VoiceJam Festival at Walton Arts Center April 10-12. Auditions are now open for WACappella, and you can sign up to participate in a community singing event, One-Day Choir.
WACappella vocal group
Assembling for the third year, Walton Arts Center’s adult a cappella group, WACappella, will perform on stage while the judges deliberate at the VoiceJam Competition on Saturday, April 11. The vocal band is holding auditions for local singers to join in all vocal parts with particular need for tenor and baritone voices. Adults 18 and older have until 11:59 pm Sunday, Feb. 22 to submit their audition. Singers will be announced on Monday, Feb. 23.
To audition, submit a video of yourself singing 16 measures (or up to 30 seconds) of a song of your choice, a cappella. Choose a song that shows off your vocal range, control and style. In your video, introduce yourself, give your city of residence and the title of your song. Vocal percussionists should record percussion examples of a rock-style and ballad-style beats, up to 30 seconds total. Audition videos should be under one minute.

One-Day Choir
Back by popular demand and a fitting way to end the festival, singers of all skill levels are invited to come make music together at Walton Arts Center on Sunday April 12, 10 am – noon. No cost. No auditions. No pressure. Just voices creating magic (and maybe some new friendships) through music.
One-Day Choir is open to singers who are 12 and older. Complete the registration form at www.waltonartscenter.org/voicejam. After registering, you will receive an email link to the selected music to learn in advance.
