
Walton Arts Center is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive with live entertainment by local artists from 10 am – 3 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 18 in Walker Atrium. Scheduled performers are:
10-11:30 am Adams Collins on Vibraphone
11:45 am-1:15 pm Michael Puryear on Cello
1:30-3 pm Ben Harris on Guitar
All who donate during this blood drive will also get a $20 gift card to Amazon or to a merchant of their choice. The card will be emailed to donors after the drive is over. Limited spaces remain, sign up now at redcrossblood.org. Drop-in appointments will also be available.
Blood donations help the American Red Cross respond to emergencies, provide life-saving treatments and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Walton Arts Center began hosting community blood drives with live entertainment in May 2020 when the demand for blood rose due to the COVID-19 pandemic and musicians were struggling as live performances were halted. The tradition has continued, and each blood drive still features local artists.
Support for Walton Arts Center is provided, in part, by the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Walton Arts Center is Arkansas’ largest and busiest performing arts presenter. Each year more than 215,000 people from Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma and beyond attend more than 300 public events at Walton Arts Center, including performances, rehearsals, community gatherings, receptions, weddings and more. Approximately 35,000 students and teachers participate annually in arts learning programs at Walton Arts Center, and almost 250 volunteers donate 28,000 hours of time each year to its operations.
