The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Lake Project Office is temporarily closing the swim beaches at Horseshoe Bend Day Use Area, Hickory Creek

Day Use Area and War Eagle Park until further notice due to high water and debris.

Floating logs, trash and other debris have created significant safety hazards in these areas. Additionally, rising water has submerged picnic tables, grills and parking lots.

Despite the closures, several other swim beach locations around Beaver Lake remain open for public use, including Dam Site Lake Campground, Dam Site Lake Day Use Area, Indian Creek, Lost Bridge North, Rocky Branch Day Use, Prairie Creek and Horseshoe Bend Campground.
