Hi, I'm Lee Ann Looman, a local licensed health insurance agent specializing in Medicare plans. Our non-government entity serves our communities by educating beneficiaries on their healthcare options.
Medicare is an amazing health insurance program, but it can be really confusing to navigate on your own. Before we retire, most of us have health insurance through our jobs, and the Human Resources department usually helps us choose the right plan each year. But when you retire, you don't have that same help, which is where I come in – think of me as your personal HR department.
You can sign up for the government-issued Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) through the Federal Government; however, that coverage alone could leave you vulnerable to unlimited out-of-pocket costs. In addition, Original Medicare also does not cover Part D prescription drugs. For that reason, there are hundreds of options to “fill the gaps” left by Original Medicare. These options are offered through private insurance companies. My job is to listen to your healthcare needs and budget, inform you of your options and to help you to choose the plan that best suits your needs. And the good news is that I provide this service at no cost to you!
Since I'm an independent agent, I work with many different insurance companies. These companies offer Medicare Supplements (also called Medigap plans), Medicare Advantage plans, and Prescription Drug plans. Because I work with so many companies, I can look at almost everything available in your area and then help you narrow it down to a few choices. If you tried to do this on your own, it would be completely overwhelming! I also make sure that your favorite doctors and current prescription drugs are covered in the plan you choose.
