Rogers, Ark.– The Oak Street Overpass project is progressing. This project will reduce congestion by enhancing the arterial grid network, help to activate isolated portions of the I-49 corridor, and reduce emergency response time.
One of the next steps in this project will necessitate the closure of Promenade Boulevard between Walnut Creek Boulevard and Oak Street. South bound through traffic will be detoured at Magnolia Street. This closure is expected to last from Monday, October 23 through Friday, October 27. The purpose is for the installation of underground utilities.
A longer closure will remain on Oak Street between Promenade Boulevard and 45th Street as the contractor rebuilds the section of road. This is expected to last through November.
Thank you for your patience as these needed closures provide safety for motorists and workers. Please see the map for the detour route.
The Oak Street Overpass Project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2024. To follow the project online, goals, action steps, and timeline can be found at https://www.rogersar.gov/1188/Oak-Street-Overpass.
