Ozark Regional Transit New and Improved Services in Roger Coming July 3

Published Friday, June 30, 2023

In an effort to most effectively move passengers around the city of Rogers, a hybrid of the standard, mass transit model called “Fixed Routes” will be implemented into service on July 3,2023 during peak transit usage times.

Rogers has been an exclusively “On-Demand Transit” model for the past few years and ridership data gleaned from the service has outlined the greatest desired ridership times, destinations, and pick-up locations. The schedule and route, called Route 51, is based on this determined peak usage.

Route 51 will complement the existing On-Demand Transit service and vice versa. Both models will run concurrently for a morning period and an afternoon period. (Please see attached schedule and graphics)

The On-Demand Transit vehicles will be reduced from the existing three to a single vehicle during these periods. The fixed route 51 will consist of two vehicles.

At the end of each of Rt. 51’s two daily periods, each bus will convert to an On-Demand Transit vehicle during the non-peak periods of the day.

The On-Demand service will continue to operate later hours on Friday evenings as well as the same Saturday service. These longer service hours on the weekends will not be affected by the aforementioned changes.

It is hoped that these changes will increase our effectiveness in moving masses of transit passengers to their most desired destinations, during peak transit usage periods, in the most cost-effective means available without abandoning the overall access to public transit that has made such great strides in recent months.
