Ozark Regional Transit Route 490-Express Route Between Washington and Benton Co. Restored as Two-bus Route

Published Tuesday, September 13, 2022

Beginning Monday, Sept. 19 at 6:00 a.m. heading north from NWA Mall in Fayetteville, and at 7:00 a.m. heading south from NWACC-Bentonville, Route 490 will be restored to a full, 2-bus system connecting Washington and Benton County.

The 2-bus system will offer more frequency throughout the day. Passengers can expect to wait no more than one hour for the bus, going in their desired direction, north or south, to arrive. The route will service 4 stops generally along I-49.

Additionally, the service hours have been extended throughout the day on weekdays until 8:50 p.m. for the final drop off at NWA Mall.

See the below map and schedule for more details.

This restoration has been made possible due to a generous grant from the Walton Family Foundation and it is hoped that it will make it much easier for passengers to traverse between the two counties using public transit, especially NWACC students.
