This Weekend at Railyard Live - July 29 & 30

Here’s who will be at Railyard Live this weekend.

Friday Night: Railyard Jazz & Blues Block Party

5:10-5:40pm - Audience dance instruction, Dance With Me Studio by Aura

5:45-6:45pm - Austin Farnam Trio

7:00-8:00pm - Grady Nichols

8:15-9:15pm - The Sons of Brasil

9:30-10:30pm - Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal

Night after night at their live shows, Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal leave it all on the table, bringing crowds palpably authentic music. This is a real working band; music for the people, by the people. You hear the veracity in Hoyer’s voice. You hear the strife of a guitar amp being pushed to its limits. You hear keyboards hammering notes home while emboldened horns soar over the top of a rhythm section akin to a freight train. The raucous funk and smooth soul emanating from the stage dutifully pays homage to the past soul giants while simultaneously charging forward, piloting themselves into the modern era.

Saturday Night: Railyard Jazz & Blues Block Party

4:00-5:00pm - The 1 Oz Jig

5:30-6:30pm - Clark Gibson Quartet

7:00-8:00pm - Chubby Carrier

8:30-9:30pm - Branjae

10:00-11:00pm - Akeem Kemp

If you haven’t experienced the high energy, swamp funky zydeco sound of Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, it is high time that you join the legions of fans that have.

Once the accordion-playing virtuoso grabs the mic and takes to the stage with his band mates, audiences are treated to a show like no other. Chubby’s sound is infectious – a concoction of blues, 70s funk, rock and roll, and good-ole zydeco flavor – and makes even the most timid individuals get their feet a movin’
