The Dog Days of Summer is the theme for art during the 2nd Thursday art walk in Downtown Rogers. Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Rogers Art on the Bricks (AOTB) showcases the creative economy and the dozens of dog friendly businesses in the heart of the city. Thursday, August 12 from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m., the AOTB features pop-up locations with artists who create artwork including pet portraits, a dog fashion show and some paw tapping live music. A special collaboration with the Humane Society for Animals will treat the public to an opportunity to meet some special dogs who are eager to find their forever homes. 20 – 25 pop-up exhibits will feature art and artists that will appeal to art and animal lovers of all ages. Keeping Pets Safe:
Summer offers opportunities to enjoy the Ozarks with our furry loved ones, but high temperatures require you take precautions to protect your pets from the heat. While we are outside enjoying swimming, hiking and running with our pets, it is important to keep in mind warm weather can be dangerous. During the Thursday, August 12 Art Walk, Humane Society for Animals will set up a pop-up pet adoption booth at Into+View Art Gallery’s greenspace at 300 N 2nd Street. They will share information about protecting pets from high temperatures as well as the importance of keeping current photos and your pets microchip records up to date. These are important if your pet gets lost, which often happens during late summer thunderstorms in Northwest Arkansas. They will also have some adorable animals available for adoption, so if you have room in your home and your heart for a new pet, please stop by.
Keeping Humans Safe:
Indoor and outdoor pop-up exhibits will be available throughout Downtown Rogers, and we encourage you to be safe when you attend. Heypex Global is sponsoring free face masks to be distributed at several locations in throughout the art walk and Rogers New Technology High School Rotary Interact Club is partnering with Kendrick Fincher Hydration for Life to host a hydration and misting station in Railyard Park.
Precautions related to COVID-19
- Artists and patrons should not attend if they feel sick, have fever, cough, shortness of breath, or have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 and not yet cleared the quarantine time period.
- In adherence to recent updates by the CDC concerning indoor public gatherings, both vaccinated and nonvaccinated attendees should wear masks while indoors.
- The Arkansas Department of Health strongly encourages all attendees be fully vaccinated before attending public gatherings.
- As much as possible, please practice social distancing.
- Sanitize and wash your hands often.
- Individual business owners will determine mask wearing guidelines for their individual properties.
