RLC’s Spotlight Series is designed to bring the right people together at the right time to spark innovation, inspire ideas and align our community around common goals.

  • Each quarter we feature a different theme to spotlight progress and illuminate issues that are opportunities for growing business, activating high-impact leaders, and building a strong and diverse place to visit, live, invest, work and play.

About the event: This is a good one!

  • Igniting Conversations for Change- An important aspect of civic engagement is effective communication. How we communicate with those we engage with and those interested in learning more is key. This Spotlight Series will show attendees how communication can be a source of inspiration or the root of misunderstanding. Effective communication helps you build strong rapport and generate support for your work. It also opens doors to allow starting dialogues about the issues you are passionate about.

What’s in it for you? After attending this Spotlight you will know how to

  • Actively engage with your elected officials to voice your concerns
  • Explore various feedback channels and avenues
  • Determine the most effective strategies to achieve the best results for your issues.

About the speakers: This spotlight series will be a moderated panel discussion of local elected officials and a business community representative speaking on how to effectively communicate civic issues. The panel will discuss the overall importance of civic engagement, best practices for effective communication, consensus building, and common pitfalls to avoid. The panel will be moderated by Paul Gatling, NWA Business Journal Editor. Speakers include:

  • Benton County Judge Barry Moehring

  • Rogers City Councilperson Mandy Brashear

  • Rogers School Board President Nathan Gairhan

  • Angela DeLille, Manager of Government and Regulatory Affairs, Cox Communications
