Two New Downtown Attractions: Downtown Rogers businesses are invited to host either of two new public art installations that will further attract patrons to the Downtown community. Both projects will be published and promoted in news releases, on social media, and on websites inviting people to experience the many amenities in Downtown Rogers. Participants in the January DTR Merchant MeetUp met the artists and had the first opportunity to sign up to be locations for these art installations. 

Getting Creative: Downtown Rogers (DTR) is celebrating Artober during the month of October! All year long, numerous DTR businesses feature a range of artists, makers, and other talented creatives, providing interactive experiences for the community to enjoy. Every second Thursday Art on the Bricks Art Walk provides regional artists the opportunity to demonstrate or exhibit and sell their work in galleries and pop-up shops. From 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. October 12, more than a dozen Downtown Rogers business host guest artists or feature locally made products or offer other fun opportunities to enjoy the DTR creative economy.

A new mural in Downtown Rogers is being installed near the intersection of 2^nd and Walnut streets later this month. The installation will complement the arts, culture and quality of life experiences in Downtown Rogers. Stevie Stevens, a mixed media glass artisan based in Bella Vista, was awarded a Third Space Grant by the Rogers Lowell Chamber to create a public art piece to expand the arts, culture and quality of life experiences that correspond with the Downtown Rogers creative community.  

Music Moves is a music education nonprofit founded in Northwest Arkansas and committed to developing music programs and performances to share the extraordinary contributions of African Americans in all musical genres. Their mission is to provide opportunities to experience and appreciate the richness of Black music through educational programs for youth. African-American music is not just feel-good music produced through a multi-billion dollar industry – it is an original American art form and they are taking the next step opening The Music Depot, their first brick and mortar location in Downtown Rogers.

The June 8th Art on the Bricks Art Walk celebrates the founding of our city and highlights artists who share a sense of community through their art. Rogers was officially founded on June 6, 1881, and we are celebrating Founders Day during the entire month of June. Rogers has been home to a variety of creative individuals who have given our city a rich and diverse cultural history in the arts. These artists have been painters, woodcarvers, sketch artists, quilters…the list goes on! No matter what medium they used or whether they were a hobbyist or a professional, it is evident that all these artists were just as passionate in the love of their craft as Rogers’ artists are today.

Java Dudes Coffee Co. and Mavis WineCo. are collaborating to offer a summer pop-up market featuring creators and vendors from our region. They have selected local artisans with handcrafted products inspired by the heart and soul of talented makers from our community. Make plans to visit Rogers + Art + District and attend RAD on 2nd, Downtown Rogers’ newest makers market offering locally made products They will also feature food trucks serving up a variety of food and beverage options. Earth Day is celebrated each year in April and we would like to highlight some of the businesses that are making efforts to reduce the impact they are having on our environment. One such effort is Honeycomb Kitchen Shop’s partnership with Ozark Compost & Swap to collect food waste from their cooking classes to be used for composting.

April is National Recycling Month and Earth Day is April 22. The April Downtown Rogers Art on the Bricks Art Walk is the perfect time to highlight art that is based on restoration and reuse. We are excited to share the works of than a dozen artists who created art that comes from items that are recycled or repurposed. We are also showcasing the works of dozens of other artists who bring beauty as well as socially and culturally significant messages to the community through art.

Art on the Bricks Art Walk is Thursday, April 13, 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in locations throughout Downtown Rogers.

Rotary Club of Rogers invites you to join them for a family friendly bike ride while you support a Rotary Global Project to improve education in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The event begins at the Rogers Activity Center in Downtown Rogers, 8:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29. Enjoy some of the beautiful paved bike trails in Northwest Arkansas. 

During the bleak weeks in winter where darkness exceeds daylight, many people suffer from anxiety and depressive disorders commonly known as The Winter Blues. Some find the winter blues can be alleviated through artificial light, making up for a shortness in daylight. Thursday, January 12, 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., a ray of light will be found through collaboration students and faculty of the Arkansas Arts Academy and other visual and performance artists during Downtown Rogers Art on the Bricks Art Walk.
