Hector Amaya Celebrates One Year of Creativity and Community at The Bird’s Nest by Kollecta Creations

One year ago this month, Downtown Rogers welcomed a unique addition to its creative scene: The Bird’s Nest by Kollecta Creations — the brainchild of local maker and entrepreneur Hector Amaya. In just twelve months, what began as a personal dream has grown into a beloved community space where creativity thrives, memories are made, and people come together to craft, connect, and create.

Born and raised in Rogers, Hector Amaya is deeply rooted in the heart of the city. A 2004 graduate of Rogers High School, he briefly attended Missouri Southern State University before returning home and building a successful career in retail management. Over the years, he held leadership roles at AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, Academy Sports, and Walmart. But it was a major life shift — and a moment of inspiration — that set his entrepreneurial journey in motion.

After stepping away from the corporate world to become a stay-at-home dad, Hector saw a laser engraving machine in action. That single moment sparked a vision: What if he could channel his love of design and hands-on creativity into a business — one that allowed him to support his family while staying close to home?

That idea quickly gained traction. Hector began showcasing his laser-engraved art and handmade goods at farmers markets, art walks, and maker events. The positive response gave him the confidence to take the leap and open a brick-and-mortar space.

In April 2024, The Bird’s Nest by Kollecta Creations officially opened its doors. Nestled in the heart of Downtown Rogers, the shop is more than a storefront — it's a warm, vibrant space where people of all ages and skill levels can explore their creativity. From personalized gifts and custom art to hands-on workshops where guests can paint, craft, and design their own pieces, The Bird’s Nest is a celebration of imagination and heart.

Over the past year, Hector has seen his shop grow into a hub of connection and meaning. It has hosted birthday parties, healing moments, and the creation of countless heartfelt mementos. Families and friends visit not just to shop, but to make — to bring their stories to life through art.

A true hustler and collaborator, Hector has also partnered with numerous Downtown Rogers businesses to help expand their brand presence with custom logo items — all while supporting the local creative economy. From coasters to hats, cake toppers to in-store displays, he’s collaborated with numerous businesses, some of which include: Big Heart Bread, Butter & Blooms, Casa Alejo, Flashback Pizza & Milkshakes, and Lasang Pinoy. His work exemplifies how local talent and small business can uplift and amplify one another.

“What makes this shop special isn’t just the work I create — it’s the people who walk in with an idea and leave with something that matters to them,” says Hector. “I’m honored to help bring that vision to life.”

As The Bird’s Nest celebrates its one-year anniversary, Hector reflects with deep gratitude for the community that has embraced his little "ma and pa" shop. “To everyone who has stopped by, supported, shared their story, or simply said hello — thank you. This has been a dream come true, and it’s only the beginning.”

For anyone looking to get creative, commemorate something meaningful, or simply enjoy a warm, welcoming space, The Bird’s Nest by Kollecta Creations is ready to welcome you.
