Downtown Rogers will come alive with creativity and connection during the next Art on the Bricks Art Walk on Thursday, May 8, as education, art, and community converge in an unforgettable evening of inspiration.
The Arkansas Arts Academy (AAA) has been a vital part of Art on the Bricks for years, delighting visitors with vibrant student performances scattered throughout downtown. They have expanded their programming in their new student gallery, the A3 Gallery, located at 228 S. 1st Street right in the heart of Rogers. AAA has established a new centerpiece for artistic expression in this historic storefront. This dedicated space not only showcases stunning visual works created by students but also serves as a lively performance venue each month during the May Art Walk.

For May’s event, visitors to A3 Gallery will experience "Slow Dance Social: Swaying Through the Digital Current," an immersive performance and visual arts exhibition crafted under the leadership of elementary dance teacher Kevin Guy. Drawing inspiration from David Michalek’s celebrated Slow Dancing/NYCB installation, the students deeply explored how social media shapes the way we perceive and participate in the art of dance. Through a mesmerizing combination of choreographed live performances and curated digital art, the installation offers a thoughtful, poignant reflection on rhythm, identity, and the influence of digital culture. This unique project was made possible through an innovative collaboration with AAA’s high school digital media team, blending movement and media into a rich, multidimensional experience.
In addition to the main exhibition, the gallery’s front room will feature the colorful and imaginative works of AAA’s elementary students, created using the Artful Learning framework. This educational approach, inspired by Leonard Bernstein’s vision of connecting the arts to all areas of learning, empowers students to think creatively and make deep, meaningful connections between art and academics.

Art on the Bricks has long been a celebration of local artistry and culture, and the involvement of Arkansas Arts Academy continues to demonstrate how education and the arts can enrich a community. This month's event invites residents and visitors alike to not only view art but to experience it — to sway, reflect, and engage with the emerging voices of the next generation.
With the A3 Gallery’s dance performance during the monthly Art Walk and the debut of "Slow Dance Social," Downtown Rogers is set to deliver an evening that promises to inspire, challenge, and move all who attend.
Arkansas Arts Academy faculty and students continue to add excitement to the Downtown Rogers art and entertainment experience through innovative projects and the A3 Gallery. Downtown Rogers is set for an inspiring evening that engages all attendees.
