Google Yourself! Why It’s Important to Check Your Online Chamber Directory Listing
Is your business being found online—and are people seeing the right information?
We’re encouraging all Rogers Lowell Chamber members to take a few minutes to check their Chamber directory listing and Google search results. Keeping your information current helps drive leads, build trust, and protect your brand.
Step 1: Check Your Chamber Directory Listing
Visit the Rogers Lowell Chamber website and search for your business in the Membership Directory: https://web.rogerslowell.com/atlas/directory/search
Make sure the following information is correct:
- Business name and location
- Website and phone number
- Description and categories
- Business hours (if applicable)
- Social media links
If something is out of date, email Marni at [email protected] and she’ll help you update it!
Step 2: Google Your Business Name
Open a new tab and type your business name into Google. Look for:
- Old or outdated listings
- Incorrect addresses or phone numbers
- Duplicates or inactive pages
Sometimes, former directory pages from years ago can still appear in search results—especially if you’ve changed locations or branding.
Step 3: Request Removal of Outdated Results from Google
If you find an old Chamber directory listing or other outdated page, you can request its removal directly from Google. Here’s how:
- Go to the Google "Remove Outdated Content" page (or click the 3 vertical dots to open this page)
- Paste the outdated URL you want removed
- Copy the full URL of the outdated page and paste it into the submission field.
- Click “Request Removal”
- Google will review the request, and if the page has been removed or changed, they’ll take action to clean it from search results.
- You can check back later to see the status of your request.
Why This Matters for You: Keeping your online info clean and current:
- Improves your search engine ranking
- Ensures customers find the right contact info
- Builds credibility with potential leads
- Drives more traffic to your site via the Chamber directory
