April's Workforce Efforts - 2024 New Tech Career and Internship Fair

Posted by: Marketing Manager on Friday, May 3, 2024

Workforce Development is a top priority for the Rogers Lowell Chamber in 2024. With over 9,000 open jobs across the NWA region, the Chamber works hard each day to help employers fill these positions and develop the workforce of tomorrow. April had four distinct workforce events devoted to showcasing career pathways to students and helping employers hire to fill jobs.

New Tech Career and Internship Fair:

What It Is: This student-run career fair showcases local careers for over 400 high school students. This event also featured summer internships with small businesses. Colleges and universities were also on hand for students choosing post-secondary education. Chamber staff also addressed the businesses on why this event is important for students and helps grow the business community in our area.

Why It Matters: Career exposure plays a key role for students as they move towards graduation and entering the workforce. Showcasing careers and post-secondary education on equal footing teaches students that degree and non-degree fields are both vital to keep our community growing.
