ORTs First Intercity BRX Bus Route Bentonville to Rogers

Monday, April 1, Ozark Regional Transit Authority (ORT) implemented the area’s first intercity/regional bus route. The Bentonville/Rogers Exchange, (BRX) provides $0 fare travel between these two vibrant cities in Northwest Arkansas. Ozark Regional Transit, is committed to providing accessible transportation options that bring communities closer together.

ORT is servicing 84 total bus stops (42 Eastbound and 42 Westbound) with the westernmost stop at the Bentonville Community Center and the easternmost stop at the Butterfly Park located at South 1st Street and West Cherry Street near the Frisco Caboose in Historic Downtown Rogers. The route consists of 6 total buses during the busiest hours of the day, 30-minute headway  frequency or interval between consecutive departures of buses on a particular route. In this context, it means that a bus departs from a designated stop every 30 minutes. and it will require no transfers and be zero-fare to all passengers through 2024.

30-minute headways: A bus departs from a designated stop every 30 minutes. For example, if a route has 30-minute headways, a bus will depart from a stop at 9:00 AM, then the next bus will depart from the same stop at 9:30 AM, followed by another bus at 10:00 AM, and so on.

About Ozark Regional Transit

Ozark Regional Transit Authority (ORT) has two Fixed and two On-Demand Transit (ODT) Routes in Fayetteville, two Fixed and one ODT in Springdale, One fixed and one ODT in Rogers and as well as in Bentonville.  Additionally, ORT offers an express bus service between Fayetteville and Bentonville, which is very popular with NWACC students. 

Curb-to-curb services are offered in all four cities with Fixed-Route or ODT Service and  — to a more limited extent — in rural areas and smaller cities in Benton county, Monday through Friday.

Some additional services are available on Saturday in Fayetteville, Bentonville and Rogers.
