The community is invited to Pig Gig Arkansas, as the annual festival returns to Downtown Rogers. Pig Gig Arkansas is a family friendly event organized  Jay Alexander Foundation to benefit the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation. The event includes a pig roast BBQ and live music performances to honor the life of Jay Alexander, a Rogers resident who passed away in 2011 at age 20 from a rare form of liver cancer. Presented by Jay Alexander Foundation, Inc. in partnership with the City of Rogers at the Downtown Rogers Butterfield Stage, the festivities are set for 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 101 E Cherry St, Rogers, AR.

Jay Alexander was a 2009 graduate of Rogers High School and was attending college at Arkansas Tech University when he was diagnosed with this disease. The first Pig Gig was held in New Jersey--hosted by Glenn Alexander, Jay’s uncle, a professional musician--who founded and has hosted seven Pig Gigs in the Garden State.

the Alexander family is heavily involved in downtown Rogers. Brooke Alexander, Jay’s sister, has owned Alexander Baking Co. since 2017. Jay's parents, Greg and Sheila Alexander, will soon be opening “Pub on the Bricks,” a downtown Rogers beer and wine bar.

“Jay lived life to the fullest,” shared Sheila Alexander, Jay's mom. “We want to keep his memory alive and one way we do so is by supporting the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation," she continued.  “Once Glenn began hosting the Pig Gig in New Jersey, it was a natural progression to bring this event to Northwest Arkansas," she explained. "The first Arkansas Pig Gig was held in Rogers in 2019 on private property, and, after taking a break for COVID, it returned bigger and better in Downtown Rogers in 2022.  We are excited to welcome the community back to Butterfield Stage in 2023,” she continued.

100% of donations to Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation directly fund fibrolamellar research.
