It all starts with a free home energy assessment. Customers of Black Hills Energy Arkansas or Southwestern Electric Power Company may request a free energy assessment to help manage their energy bills.

If you are a customer of either Black Hills Energy or SWEPCO, You qualify for a free in-home/in office evaluation to provide you with free energy saving upgrades. Employees of the Rogers Lowell Chamber have used this service and received new weather stripping, energy efficient light bulbs and more. Rental properties and vacation rentals qualify too.

• Black Hills Energy Arkansas - Excess is Out

Black Hills Energy Arkansas offers a no-cost professional home energy evaluation to qualifying homes to help you start saving energy and money today. As part of Home Performance with ENERGY STAR, a certified Home Energy Contractor will schedule a visit to your home to conduct a comprehensive energy efficiency assessment. During the assessment, the contractor will identify and implement various energy-saving measures in your home. Your home may qualify for some or all of the following measures: air sealing, duct sealing, ceiling insulation, energy-saving showerheads, and energy-saving faucet aerators. The contractor will then develop a thorough report containing the assessment findings as well as any further recommendations for energy savings. Black Hills Energy Arkansas also offers rebates for high-efficiency heating and water heating equipment.

• SWEPCO Residential Energy Efficiency Program

SWEPCO offers a $300 discount for home energy assessments and rebates for comprehensive energy efficiency improvements as part of Home Performance with ENERGY STAR. Home energy assessments are designed to help identify problem areas in the home and the most beneficial energy efficiency improvements that will increase comfort and save money. A SWEPCO Network Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Contractor will conduct the assessment, develop a report of the findings and make recommendations on the most cost-effective improvements to the home. During the assessment the contractor will install, at no cost, direct install measures, such as energy efficient showerheads and faucet aerators, advanced power strips, and CFLs or LEDs. The customer can qualify to receive rebates for the following major measures: air conditioner or electric heat pump replacement, air infiltration, ceiling, wall or attic knee-wall insulation, duct sealing or insulation, electric water heater, ENERGY STAR windows, and window film. The customer can also qualify for a $100 bonus if two or more measures are installed within six months of the audit.
