Chamber Convenes with Board of Directors in Branson to Start Work on 3-Year Strategic Plan

Posted by: Justin Freeman on Tuesday, December 6, 2022
Planning for the future: Vision/NEXT is all about imagining the next 100 years for the Chamber and how we can push forward the community’s vision together. An important part of the process is collaboratively developing a sound strategic plan with the board of directors that drives our program of work each year.

•At the retreat October 20 and 21, breakouts were facilitated by staff to identify opportunities and priorities for the next 3-year strategic plan.

•Insights from focus groups conducted by the Chamber this summer helped attendees frame our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Board members gave us ideas and direction on where the Chamber should focus its time and resources.

Why it matters: Community leaders who are represented on the Board work together with the Chamber to ensure mission-work is relevant and necessary in helping our destination be the best place to visit, live, invest, work, and play.

What’s next: The strategic plan addresses important initiatives identified for the five key focus areas of our mission-work - what we call the Mission 5. It also guides the 2023 Program of Work for each Chamber division which will be presented to the board for approval in mid-January.
