Bring your pooch and join dog-friendly Downtown Rogers for the first-ever “Best Friends Animal Society Pup Crawl on Saturday, September 24, 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.” This “pub crawl with a purpose” will benefit the Best Friends Pet Resource Center opening in Bentonville in early 2023. The Pet Resource Center will be a first-of-its-kind in the nation, fully reimagined shelter, paving the way for the rest of the country.

Tickets are on sale now for $20 and include an entry for one dog per person, a swag bag and a "paws-port" for the event. Pup crawlers will receive a stamp from participating bars and may then redeem their stamped paws-port for drink specials, specialty cocktails, a giveaway, or perhaps a friendly welcome to thank eventgoers for supporting Best Friends and our locally owned businesses. Participating businesses include: Woof & Wander, Dandy Roll, The Urban Tub, Brick Lane Books, Threads 314, Nola’s Pantry, The Tipsy Donut, The Rail A Pizza Company, The Shire Gastropub, Onyx Coffee Lab, Anime Café, Grace Lorenzo's Bridal and Formal Wear...and the list keeps growing!
The bars and restaurants in the entertainment district are the perfect place to take advantage of food and drinks to go. If you bring your doggo, use the buddy system to take turns going in the restaurants that don't have a dog friendly patio. Even if you have to leave Fido home, you will be getting great SWAG from Best Friends and have a chance to meet up with other dog lovers. Visit local bars and businesses! Drink with friends! Pet all the dogs!

Downtown retail shops, restaurants and bars are still welcome to sign up, contact Sydney Frazier at [email protected] for details.

Join the Pub Crawl with a Purpose. Best Friends is dedicated to finding permanent, loving homes for dogs and cats in America’s shelters, including here in Northwest Arkansas. They work across the region to make sure that every adoptable pet has the option of residing in the comfort of a foster home rather than in a kennel in a shelter.
Best Friends is leading the no-kill movement by running lifesaving community programs for dogs and cats, providing support and training for animal shelters and rescue groups, and mobilizing community members on behalf of pets in need across the country.

Best Friends' new Pet Resource Center, now under construction in Bentonville, is a first-of-its-kind, fully reimagined animal shelter. One of the ways it differs from traditional shelters may really surprise you: it won't have kennels and cages!

That's right: instead of the facility being designed around kennels and cages, all of the dogs and many if not most of the cats in Best Friends' care, live in loving homes with foster families. There they can recover, relax, and even curl up on a couch, cared for by people who love them while they wait to be adopted.

So will there be adoptable dogs at the Pet Resource Center? Of course! There will be adoption events, meet-and-greets for foster pets and potential adopters, and foster dogs can visit the center for a play day and go back to their foster homes at the end of the day. No cages or kennels required!
This is just one of the many ways Best Friends Pet Resource Center will change the future of pet sheltering in Northwest Arkansas, and change the world to make a better place for animals.
