Natural State Beverage Company creates natural sodas and delicious kombucha. Founded by co-owners Krista and Ty Cloud in February 2021, they first set up their operation in a small commercial location in Bentonville and have recently moved to a significantly larger location at 215 S Arkansas just North of Jiffy Kwick.  As the popularity of their natural sodas and delicious kombucha grew, they quickly recognized the need for more space to increase production so they purchased the property at 215 S Arkansas, which has previously been home to a laundromat, an appliance shop and a church.

The young company manufactures a wide assortment of natural sodas and delicious kombucha- a fizzy sweet-and-sour drink fermented with tea. They sell their products wholesale for commercial distribution only and don’t have a retail space or tasting room in their new downtown facility.  As of today, they have more than 20 distribution locations, including coffee shops, health food stores, tap rooms, and even a medical office. Due to the owners passion for outdoors and active lifestyle, Natural State Beverage also shows up to local bike races and rock climbing events. They will be celebrating their one year anniversary of first sales this October. 

Manufacturing beverages is relatively new to this pair of creative entrepreneurs. They first began brewing over five years ago, for their own purposes, with a goal of having tasty beverages that were healthy for their family. While hosting a bikepacking event they served their kombucha and quickly realized that this was a product that needed to be shared with their community. While the process and recipes are new to the Cloud family, Kombucha has been around for nearly 2,000 years. It was first brewed in China and then spread to Japan and Russia. It became popular in Europe in the early 20th century. Sales in the United States are on the rise because of its reputation as a gut health promoting and low sugar drink.

The couple moved with their two children to Northwest Arkansas because they were attracted to the many amenities the Natural State has to offer particularly rock climbing, biking and floating the rivers. During the midst of COVID, they decided to sell their farm in SW Missouri and head South. They have not only built a business but have enjoyed the active lifestyle and close knit community of Northwest Arkansas.
