Celebrating One Year-- The Little Candle NWA is Shining Bright in Downtown Rogers
Husband and wife transplants from sunny Los Angeles, Vania and Mark Greco, moved to NW Arkansas in December of 2017. In addition to being small business owners, both work full time, Mark as a CPA and Vania is a social worker providing therapy for her clients.

In early 2020 they began making candles as a hobby. However, it wasn't long before they were inspired to start a business even though--or perhaps, because--the pandemic was in full swing. The young entrepreneurs began selling their products in pop-up shops and farmers markets throughout Northwest Arkansas. The popularity of their products continued to grow, and they made the decision to open the storefront at 112 N 3rd Street, in Downtown Rogers.

The pair immediately felt welcomed by the NWA community and were inspired by many other small businesses in the area. "Downtown Rogers has been a wonderful place to establish our brick and mortar," explained Vania. "We can't wait to see what the future holds." Well, one thing the future holds is a third member of the Greco family. They are expecting a baby in October. Of course, owning a small business offers numerous challenges and rewards, and one of the rewards is being your own boss and having the ability to adapt their business and their busy schedules around the demands of a new baby.

The product line includes a rotating collection of soy wax candles. Every candle is poured by hand at their storefront. They work with their clients to create custom candles for special events or corporate promotions and offer candle workshops about once a month either in their shop or in Brick & Mortar, an event venue just two blocks away on W Walnut Street. The workshops provide a way to engage with their customers and community while contributing to the creative economy that Downtown Rogers is known for.

The Little Candle NWA is celebrating their first year anniversary on Saturday, August 20, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at 112 N 3rd Street, in Downtown Rogers. They are serving refreshments and offering a storewide sale with savings of 40% off all products.
