Ozark Beer Company is not only making great craft beer, but also making opportunities to connect people within the community to make new friends. This "speed friending" event works like speed dating, but with the objective of making new friends. As we age, it may feel more and more difficult to create real, genuine friendships. And having friends is important to us both physically and mentally. According to William Chopik, a professor of psychology at Michigan State University, “friendships become even more important as we age. Anyone who is 40 years old and over is invited to preregister to attend this event scheduled for Wednesday, August 3, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Whether you are new to the area or an "old" timer, if you are at a place in your life where you are ready to make new friends, this is the perfect event for you. Speed friending is a quick, easy and low-pressure way to meet up to 15 new people in a two-hour time frame. All you need to do is reserve a ticket, grab a beer/wine/cider, and mix and mingle with other individuals who are open to making new friendships. Who knows? You may just meet your new BFF. Check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. and the event begins promptly start at 6:00 p.m. so please be on time. Attendees will participate in multiple rounds of six-minute conversations. Once the event is over, you will leave comment cards and note who you would like to connect with further.
