Posted by: Justin Freeman on Monday, July 11, 2022

Visit Rogers, a division of the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, is partnering with the Art on the Bricks Art Walk to host their 2022 Travel and Tourism Talk for the first time in Downtown Rogers, featuring the theme Destination Center Stage: Showcasing Brands, Communities & Culture.

Tourism Talk invites all members of the Northwest Arkansas Hospitality community to come together at the Butterfield Stage, 101 E. Cherry St., on Thursday, July 14 from 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. to learn from each other as they work to promote travel and tourism in The Natural State.

About Tourism Talk
Tourism Talk provides industry trends and updates from tourism leaders, networking opportunities for partners and friends, and celebrates the Northwest Arkansas community’s shared vision of economic development, sustainable tourism, and enhanced quality of life. This year’s event highlights the economic, community, and collaborative development strategies that go into building business and growing community in Rogers. Attendees will hear from community leaders in a relaxed, TED talk format mixed with music, insights, and local flavor.

“That spirit of collaboration and partnership makes partnering with the July Art on the Bricks Art Walk such a natural fit,” said J.R. Shaw, Visit Rogers Executive Director and Chamber Executive Vice President. “After Tourism Talk we encourage our friends to explore the Art Walk, spend some time enjoying the natural outdoor gathering spaces of downtown Rogers and experience our vibrant arts and entertainment community.”

About the Art Walk’s “Piecing It Together” Theme
The businesses that make up the creative economy within our historic downtown have played an active role in attracting the attention and the investment of entrepreneurs and businesses that are choosing to locate in Downtown Rogers.

Art on the Bricks Art Walk in July is showcasing artists and creatives who are “Piecing It Together” as we navigate through and emerge from a pandemic. What do we mean by “IT?”  We are working to figure out how to go about life as we have experienced more than two years in a pandemic. Like all of us, artists must re-envision and reconstruct how they work, create and sell their products to make ends meet. They are taking a look at priorities while making choices. Artists and others are finding ways to break the inertia of the past and taking what we have learned and move forward. They are piecing together the bits of knowledge they have gained with their personal experience and bringing their art to Downtown Rogers.

Living in the Natural State, many of us have modified our lifestyle and taken more time to enjoy the outdoors - the art walk is now taking advantage of both indoor and outdoor exhibit and entertainment opportunities.

What is the Art on the Bricks Art Walk?
Downtown Rogers Art on the Bricks Art Walk, program of the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, showcases regional artists while enhancing the artistic and cultural opportunities in Rogers. The monthly event is designed to bring people to the cultural and historical center of the city and showcase Northwest Arkansas’s deep pool of creative talent.

Art on the Bricks Art Walk is one element of Downtown Rogers’ vibrant arts and entertainment community. The 2nd Thursday of every month, artists, craftsmen, and musicians, partner with downtown merchants to provide an opportunity to explore businesses and meet the artists in pop-up galleries. Locations and artists change from month to month, and art experiences consistently provide new and interesting opportunities for the public to connect with and support the creative economy. Art on the Bricks seeks to bring experiences that are socially or culturally significant and align with the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce’s economic development and quality of life initiatives.
