The public is invited to participate in the inaugural 5K walk/run kicking off at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2. Run the Railyard 5K provides a holiday weekend workout in Downtown Rogers' beautiful city lakeside park. Taking place on the paved Lake Atalanta Trails, this event is dog/child/stroller friendly so you are invited to bring the entire family.
Run the Railyard 5K provides a beautiful walk/run on the paved Lake Atalanta Trails and around the Lake kicking off at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2. This event is dog/child/stroller friendly so bring the whole family. Rotary Club of Downtown Rogers is hosting the Run the Railyard 5k walk/run to raise funds to support the clubs beautification efforts related to Downtown Rogers parks. This 3.5-mile run/walk will start and end at the Railyard Bike Park, 299 E Cherry Street, in Downtown Rogers. The route takes racers down the hill to Lake Atalanta, loops the lake and finishes back at the bike park.

Proceeds from this family-friendly event will support the Downtown Rogers Rotary Club in beautification efforts in the downtown parks.
Other programs of Rotary Club of Downtown Rogers include: a monthly litter pick-up on the Lake Atalanta Loop trail, Proceeds from Run the Railyard will provide funds for additional landscaping, park benches and amenities to enhance the park.

The Prizes:
Specially designed race medals will be awarded to the first 150 finishers.
Both first place finishers in the men's and women's categories will receive a first place trophy.
The Route:
Runners & walkers will encounter several moderate hills and valleys but Run the Railyard is primarily on concrete-paved trails, with a short 200 yard segment on gravel. This event is appropriate for strollers and leashed dogs. The course begins at Railyard Bike Park, follows the Frisco Springs Connector trail (concrete) down the hill to Lake Atalanta Park. Participants will following the paved trail through the tunnel and around Lake Atalanta for one counter-clockwise loop along the shoreline of the lake leading back up the paved trail to the finish line at the Railyard Bike Park.

Difficulty:
From the tunnel, runners & walkers will encounter several moderate hills and valleys before crossing the top of the dam. Returning along the shoreline of the lake, the route leads back up the paved trail to the finish line at the Railyard Bike Park.

Run the Railyard is primarily on concrete-paved trails, with a short 200 yard segment on gravel. This event is appropriate for strollers and leashed dogs.

Entry for the race is $25 for all ages.

The club’s major fundraiser each year is Frisco Inferno, an annual barbecue competition that serves as the official barbecue venue of Bikes Blues and BBQ, the 2nd largest motorcycle rally in the country. Weekly club meetings are held on Monday from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at Moonbroch Pub, 117 2 Walnut Street, Rogers, AR.
