Found Unbounded Art Exhibition

Brick & Mortar, located at 12 W Walnut Street, is a popular venue for artist exhibitions and classes, photo shoots, bridal showers and wedding receptions, birthday parties, anniversary parties and corporate retreats. The beautifully restored brick storefront, located in historic Downtown Rogers, is the ideal setting for this new art exhibition with an artist reception offered during the June 9 Art on the Bricks Art Walk. Found Unbounded, a Multisensory Art Exhibition, explores the relationship between art and our senses.

Artist Jennifer Baugh believes in an increasingly unstable world we often find ourselves struggling to feel grounded and safe. This interactive exhibition suggests physical implements for your feet, eyes, ears, and nose can help you calm the restlessness within or perhaps ignite some needed energy.

The art in this exhibition is created with found objects. From car parts found on the garage floor to a deconstructed tissue box--the creations are boundless. When asked about the inspiration for this exhibition, Baugh explained, "It is my hope that these drawings will encourage the viewer to look at the world a little differently. Perhaps engage with people differently," she explained. "We are not bound by our circumstances, labels, or the way we are perceived."

When asked what it was like to curate an exhibit at Brick & Mortar, in Downtown Rogers, Baugh responded, "I love Brick and Mortar for a number of reasons! Owners, Julia Spears and Cyndie Jacks bring such talent and experience to any event held in their unique space. With only a brief conversation, they were able to understand my vision for Found Unbounded, and help me plan a fantastic immersive exhibition," she continued. "Furthermore, their easy-going and witty personalities make it a joy to work with them."

The public is invited to meet the artist during the artist reception is planned for Thursday, June 9, 4:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in conjunction with Art on the Bricks Art Walk or on Friday, June 10 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The venue, Brick & Mortar on Union Block provides a welcoming event space located in the heart of Historic Downtown Rogers, Arkansas. The perfect spot to celebrate, collaborate, or simply connect.

Located on the bricks of downtown Rogers, Arkansas, Brick & Mortar is an intimate, historic venue for hosting all kinds of traditional gatherings. However, it’s the community-minded spirit that makes Brick & Mortar different from most event venues. Brick & Mortar’s mission is to support and empower local small businesses, by working with entrepreneurs and their budgets to adapt the space for any event that will best showcase their goods and knowledge and allow face-to-face interaction with an entrepreneur’s audience. These types of events include classes, workshops, product/portrait photography, pop-up markets, art exhibits, and more! Through these events, the venue temporarily serves as entrepreneurs’ "brick and mortar" – something that has proven to be extremely valuable to small businesses that are primarily online-based or whose staffs now work remotely.
