Downtown Rogers celebrated our dog friendly Northwest Arkansas community with “Barks on the Bricks” the theme for the May Art on the Bricks art walk. Artists, musicians, and pet-related businesses and nonprofits from throughout the region welcomed people and their pets to gallery exhibits and indoor and outdoor pop-up events in dozens of locations.
Downtown Rogers is known for the creative community of artists and craftsmen with unique shops and restaurants—and many of the downtown businesses are dog friendly. Canine centric exhibits were in abundance and the creatives in attendance included pet portrait artists and photographers, interactive activities for dogs, a drop off location for the Little Free Pet Pantry, plus pop-up pet photography booths in two locations provided lasting memories of the evening.
Among the vendors were dog trainers, groomers, veterinary clinics, and pop-up adoption services. In addition to art and artists, Railyard Park was activated with dance performances by Westside Ballet, and patrons were invited to dance their tails off at the CoolWag Disco Party.
Presenting sponsor, T-Mobile offered dog watering stations throughout the park and Best Friends Animal Society, the Dog Friendly Downtown Rogers Sponsor, offered an interactive experience where pet owners and their pooches made clay paw print impressions, hosted a coloring station for kids and a prize wheel to spin and win dog bandanas and other memorabilia. Both Best Friends and Marketing Main Street hosted pop-up pet photo booths.
Into+View Gallery and Studio was covered in furry art with artwork by Kinya Christian, Leona Hunter Wade, Marcia Davis and Sandra Dixon along with
an art exhibit and interactive experiences by author and artist Joy Phillips Noir and her new book, “Three-legged Dog and a Chick.”
Brick & Mortar hosted pop-up art exhibits along with a pet painting workshop taught by Amy Eichler.
