For over a century, Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company has been proud to provide refreshment to the communities of the Ozarks. From our humble beginnings when the Rice family moved from Kentucky to Springfield, Missouri and purchased the Electric Bottling Company/Farmer’s Beverages, we’ve grown to operate six facilities and employ over 750 people, producing and distributing over 650 different products. Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company now supplies 71 counties across four different states, serving over a million people. One thing that hasn’t changed since 1920, however, is our status as a family-owned business. That influence has continually shaped our growth as a company and energized our commitment to serving the communities around us.
From the first plant in the Producers Creamery and Produce Building in 1920’s downtown Springfield to our current headquarters on North Packer Road, Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company has remained devoted to embodying the spirit of customer service and supporting the community that has been the source of our growth. After more than half a century of dedication to customer service in Springfield, we opened a second facility in 1979, in Rolla. We carried on our company’s service mentality through the 20th and into the 21st century, purchasing our Bolivar facility in 1983 and acquiring the rights to the Dr Pepper franchise in 1987. In 2015, we expanded again, buying the rights to Joplin and West Plains from the Coca-Cola Company. Our most recent expansion took us to Arkansas, when we acquired the franchise rights to Northwest Arkansas in 2017. We followed that with more development when we opened our new warehouse and distribution facility in May 2021. Right next to our headquarters, the new 432,000-square-foot facility greatly increases our productivity and storage capacity, helping us to better serve our community.
Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company’s growth from downtown Springfield to owning and operating a facility in Northwest Arkansas has been a decades-long endeavor. And while Northwest Arkansas is the most recent jewel in our crown, we don’t expect it to be the last. With our commitment to outstanding service to the community around us, and the guidance of our family-owned structure, we look forward to even more fantastic developments for Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company in the future. Thank you to all the people of the Ozarks and beyond who make our continued growth and success possible.
