Nicole's House Changes Lives

Nicole’s House is a Northwest Arkansas transitional home for women. Their members reside at Nicole’s House for one year while engaging in a program of not only recovery but a program addressing all aspects of their lives. Their curriculum is named "The Six Pillars to Freedom." The members receive education, training that includes: exposure to faith, recovery, a support system, life skills, self-care, and career planning. Daily attendance at an in-house Bible study and weekly attendance in a Christian based church is encouraged. House rules are established on moral and Judeo-Christian values. Nicole’s House believes that assisting women to overcome their addiction will improve their lives and the lives of those in their community. To date the non-profit has served 40 women, 31 of whom are still sober and contributing positively to their communities. Each year seven women are admitted into the program at Nicole's House. Candidates must be 25 years of age or older, they must have been sober at least 30 days, and desire God as part of their recovery plan. Nicole’s House is a Christ Centered, registered 501(c) non-profit, solely dependent upon donations from our Northwest Arkansas community.

Founder, Sandra Warmack, and her husband Wayne are ordained ministers and worship musicians. Sandra is also a licensed Christian counselor and teaches voice at the Institute of Music Worship and the Arts.  The couple founded Greater Works Ministries which has an office at the Center for Non-Profits in Rogers.

Sandra was also inspired to retire from her position as a nursing home administrator in 2017 to found Nicole’s House, a non-profit organization established in January of 2018 to offer a 12-month, faith based, transitional living program for women coming out of addiction and (often) incarceration. Nicole’s House is named after Sandra’s daughter Nicole, who died of an accidental overdose in 2012.

One of the most important and far-reaching effects of Nicole’s House evident in the positive impact the program has on families who have been negatively affected by their loved one’s addiction. These families often face poverty, strained or broken relationships, and separation from spouses or parents. The positive healing and restorative effects offered by Nicole’s House can be dramatic. Mothers can regain custody of their children, provide for their families, and become productive members of their community. The impact Nicole’s House will have on our community is nothing short of astounding.

Nicole’s House has an active working board of directors and is always in search of volunteers to serve on their board or as a mentor or sponsor. Additional volunteer opportunities include transportation and educators/trainers. Nicole’s House also provides volunteer opportunities and have supporters who come from every walk of life. These volunteers lend their time, talents and treasures to Nicole’s House. In addition to volunteer support, Nicole’s House utilizes outside resources including professionals who assist with counseling, career planning, budgeting, cooking and nutrition and Bible Study.

The organization has a full time, live-in house leader. Each client is provided with an admissions assessment, case management, leadership, and development strategies. Each young woman is taught many skills. The ability to create and sell commodities falls under the six pillars of life skills and contributes to their career path. Members art  taught basic sewing and crafting resulting in various sized bags, aprons, wallets, greeting cards and gift boxes all of which are sold in local boutiques a pop-up events. And of course, Financial and in-kind donations of household supplies are always welcome.
