Spotlight Series Illuminates Important Issues and Development in Northwest Arkansas

Posted by: Justin Freeman on Wednesday, September 8, 2021

The Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce is committed to keeping our members and community informed on recent developments in our region. We launched a successful, new quarterly program this year called The Spotlight Series to help us with that commitment.

The Spotlight Series brings the right people together at the right time to spark innovation, inspire ideas and align our community around common goals. Each quarter features a different theme to spotlight progress and illuminate issues that are opportunities for growing business, activating high-impact leaders and building a strong and diverse place to visit, live, invest, work and play.

The Spotlight Series also serves as a way for the community to peek into the progress our leaders are making towards our community’s shared vision. In 2019, the Chamber worked with the cities of Rogers and Lowell, residents and other key stakeholders to develop the Vision 100 Plan by engaging in a process of discovering the kind of future our Rogers-Lowell community wants.

Residents were given opportunities to express their ideas in an online survey and a series of community tables. Through this discovery, we learned what our community envisions for itself in anticipation of our area reaching a population of 100,000 before 2035 and committed to this Community Action Plan.

Now, we are promoting the plan across the community to government agencies, regional organizations, corporations, companies, businesses, nonprofits, and other community groups, and publicizing progress toward completion of the goals through programs like the Spotlight Series.

Q1 Spotlight Series | Economic Development

The inaugural Spotlight Series in May centered around Economic Development in the Rogers-Lowell Area. Economic Development plays a vital role in the Chamber’s overall mission-work and subject matter experts were brought in to share highlights on upcoming developments. Chamber staff members work every day to achieve our mission through the areas of business recruitment and expansion, workforce development, business education, and quality of place initiatives.

Q2 Spotlight Series | Transportation and Infrastructure

The Spotlight Series in July focused on Transportation in Northwest Arkansas. Transportation and infrastructure needs are extremely important in shaping the future of our area and assuring we are equipped to handle the growing number of residents that are moving to NWA.

Q3 Spotlight Series | Leadership and Retaining Young Talent

The next Spotlight Series on September 30 features a discussion around leadership and retaining young talent. What's important for young professionals in your business? How do you motivate them and encourage them to perform at the highest level?  Join us for a challenging discussion on how to both grow and retain your business's most important asset - your people. We'll share the best practices that companies of today are using to empower their teams. Register now at RogersLowell.com.

Q4 Spotlight Series | TBA
