Snowy morning in Downtown Rogers

Downtown Rogers offers a welcoming business community with charming brick streets, and historic brick buildings that house a variety of shops, restaurants and bars. Your patronage is still vital to locally owned businesses during the cold weather months. And, in addition to regularly supporting your favorite businesses, you can help these businesses thrive when you write reviews! Your positive online review is a great way to lift up and support small businesses. When you spend a few minutes writing a review, you can have a significant impact on that company.

C. Whites & Company Takes Flight in Downtown Rogers

Posted by: Karen Wagaman on Monday, January 30, 2023

An interesting turn of events led to the opportunity for a longtime locally owned business in Downtown Rogers to continue carrying on a family tradition. In the fall of 2022, Rick White, owner and founder of White’s Jewelry & Company, announced his plans to retire. Rick’s son, Clennton White was not a candidate to take over as the 2nd generation operator. He was busy jet setting around the country—literally--as a private pilot, part time family farmer, and owner of an RV Park on Beaver Lake. So, the retirement sale marketing efforts kicked into high gear and the store was consistently busy thanks to news coverage, bright yellow retirement sale banners, texts, phone calls and more. Friends and customers said their goodbyes.

The dramatic lifestyle change made by the owners of Downtown Rogers Business Mavis WineCo. caught the attention of Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette Profiles Editor, April Wallace, and Photographer, Charlie Kaijo.

Jeffrey Barnett and Meghan McDonald, were busy Hollywood TV and film industry professionals who took breaks each year to visit their NW Arkansas family. The onset of COVID, and the temporary, yet total shut down of TV and film production, gave them a chance to reflect on their California lifestyle and make the move to pursue a well thought out dream of changing careers and leaving the demanding, fast paced entertainment industry to move halfway across the country to Rogers, Arkansas. The Profiles article, found in section D, pages 1 and 2, of the Sunday, January 22 issue explains, "Barnett and McDonald moved to Northwest Arkansas amid the pandemic to open Mavis Wine Co., which since its opening has become Arkansas' first natural wine bar and bottle shop."
