On Friday, June 5 at 10:30 a.m., First Tee of Northwest Arkansas will be hosting a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the newly redesigned nine-hole par-3 golf course. The Grand Opening will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at First Tee Learning Center in Lowell. The par-3 course is sponsored by Post Consumer Brands and due to the generosity of Post, all kids ages 18 and under will be able to play the executive course for free whenever it is open to the public.
“Post Consumer Brands is proud to be a sponsor of First Tee of Northwest Arkansas. The partnership will provide every child in the area the opportunity to play, access to the life lessons First Tee teaches through golf, and provide a positive impact in their lives,” Jeremy Stewart, VP of Sales at Post Consumer Brands said. “We look forward to the opening of the new First Tee NWA 9-hole course in June. Together we are making better happen in our local community.”
First Tee of Northwest Arkansas is located in the heart of NWA, about a mile off of 71 Business. First Tee is a youth development program that teaches leadership skills and character development through the game of golf to kids between the ages of five and eighteen. The facility is also a public driving range that is open seven days a week. The staff at First Tee of NWA is excited to open their new course to the public as well as to all of the kids in their programs. The executive par-3 course will allow the course to get more play and give First Tee more options for programming to take place on the golf course. First Tee looks forward to many future golf tournaments and events this course will allow them to host for the kids in their program as well as the greater Northwest Arkansas community.
“Golf is gaining popularity as one of the top social distancing sports available to kids of all socioeconomic backgrounds. We love to see kids and their parents or grandparents come out to our facility and this is another way in which that can happen. Every hole is named after one of our nine core values which enables us to positively impact kids right on the golf course.” said Randy Hurban, CEO of First Tee. “We are building the confidence of our kids by allowing them to play a course designed just for them. We are very grateful to Post Consumer Brands.”
