The Economic Opportunity Agency (EOA) is pleased to announce the celebration of the new sensory walk at EOA Children’s House located at 260 Victory Lane in Springdale.
The sensory walk was designed and implemented by a group of EAST students from Helen Tyson Middle School in Springdale. The students designed and implemented the entire project, ensuring all of the animals, plants, flowers, and bugs on the walk are native to Arkansas. QR codes are located throughout the walk allowing the EOA classes to watch videos about each of the areas.
A celebration and dedication was held February 10 at EOA Children’s House in the Pat Walker Center for Children. Attendees included Springdale School District Superintendent Dr. Rollins, EAST program students, Springdale school personnel, and EOA staff members.
EOA is a community action agency with the mission of "empowering children and families to learn, connect, and succeed.” Enriching the Northwest Arkansas community since 1965, EOA's primary programs provide services to young children and families living in poverty. By administering programs designed to address the roots of poverty through a strategic multi-generational approach, EOA connects low-income families with the tools to achieve financial stability and break the cycle of poverty.
