C2C - Back to Business NWA Series: Leveraging Freelancing for Small Business Growth

Small business are facing problems like never before. Listen to this free workshop and learn how to elevate your virtual presence and professional image using freelance talent at a price you can afford. Whether you need to improve your social media identity, showcase your products with jaw-dropping photography or grow your sales with user friendly, secure e-commerce options, you can do so at a fraction of the cost using freelance talent through the new App, Sider. Sider is a new platform that connects small businesses with local University student freelancers who are looking to grow their portfolio and their work experience.

Sider was created to harness the skills of tech-savvy University of Arkansas students who saw their internships go away as a result of COVID-19. Their loss, and the functionality of Sider, a website and app, provides an opportunity for small businesses to connect with contract labor at affordable rates while employing future graduates of the University of Arkansas.

More than 250 students and 45 businesses are already taking advantage of this new startup concept. Register today and find out how this new service has helped NWA businesses transform their online presence and positively impacted their bottom line.

About the Presenter, Omar Kasim:

Omar Kasim is a serial entrepreneur in Northwest Arkansas. He has founded Con Quesos, Juice Palm, Plomo Quesadillas, and is the co-founder of Sider, a startup that connects small businesses with student freelancers.

His entrepreneurial journey has been published on the PBS show "Startup USA", Google's 2019 Economic Impact Report, and on Access Hollywood.

Aside from running his businesses, Omar speaks regularly to schools and corporate teams about motivation and thinking entrepreneurally. He also is an adjunct professor at the Sam M. Walton College of Business.

About Sider:

Sider is a startup that helps student freelancers connect with small businesses in their area. The company is co-founded by entrepreneur Omar Kasim and University of Arkansas student Tyler Tracy in an effort to put both students and small businesses in a better position to succeed.

Rather than hiring a professional, businesses can save money by hiring a student who is looking to gain career-relevant experience and earn some side money. Students can create profiles, upload portfolios, offer specialized services, and get connected businesses who need help with specific projects. Ratings, reviews, payment, and chat are all available on the platform.

The end result: students gain valuable experience and a paycheck and businesses get quality work done at an affordable price. learn more at www.sider.app and click here for a video about their services.
