Arkansas Arts Academy Dance department presents “Freedom Speaks”
Arkansas Arts Academy Dance department presents “Freedom Speaks” under the direction of dance instructor, Mr. Todd Belin. This Black History program will celebrate the contributions of Black people to American History through food, dance, music, spoken word, fashion and more. The goal of this event is to create inclusion, to encourage diversity, and to enhance the motive of arts integration in our school. The event will take place on February 15th 5:30pm - 8:30pm. The program will include performances by students and community artist as well as guest appearances by: Korto Momolu, Celebrity Fashion Designer and Project Runway All Star, Arkansas Gospel Chorale, Cody Davis NAACP Guest Speaker, Drekkia Writes Activist, Poet, Author and our Host Dominique Blake, Olympic Medalist and Entrepreneur
Art on the Bricks Celebrates Black History Month with Food, Art, Poetry and Music
Lovers of art, poetry, music, and food are invited to celebrate Black History Month during the February Art on the Bricks Art Walk. Join this collaboration of black creators and thought leaders as we come together as a community and experience the good things in life. Enjoy food and art, accompanied by written and spoken word, collectively inspired by our regions’ black culture and community.
“So It's Black History Month...What Are You Going to Do Beyond Today?” challenges participants to consider their relationship with the rich and diverse black community in Northwest Arkansas. The Black History Month celebration is a free, family friendly event at the Rogers Experimental House, (RXH) 121 W Walnut Street, Rogers, AR.
