National Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrates History, Culture and More

National Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 through October 15, was a time to celebrate and reflect on the history, culture, contributions, and accomplishments of Hispanic Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and other Spanish-speaking nations. 

The month kicked off with celebrations of independence on September 15 for El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua; on September 16 for Mexico; and Chile on September 18. 

Visit Rogers, a division of the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, chose to celebrate by meeting with leaders in the community and highlighting their contributions, accomplishments, and how they celebrated this year.

The initiative enhances communication and collaboration between educators and industry leaders, facilitating the development of demand-driven, regional talent pipelines that fulfill both student’s career aspirations and local employer needs. Upskill Arkansas leverages the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s “Total Pipeline Management” methodologies, career readiness program best practices from across the country, and Rick Neal’s (retired Superintendent and initiative leader) personal experience launching a similar program in Pea Ridge.
