Art on the Bricks Kicks Off Hispanic Heritage Month in Downtown Rogers
Downtown Rogers is kicking off National Hispanic Heritage Month with enthusiasm. As the population in northwest Arkansas becomes more diverse, Art on the Bricks strives to represent all members of our community, along with their cultures and their art.
- National Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 – October 15 and it is significant in Rogers. Fifty-one percent of the population in Rogers is non-white or people of color, and the largest segment of this group is made up of people of Hispanic descent.
- The September Art on the Bricks Art Walk provides an opportunity to connect with and learn about the culture, the art, the music and traditions of our Latino neighbors and friends.
Bikes Blues & BBQ Heats Up Downtown Rogers
Forty attendees gathered for a special session of the Downtown Rogers Merchant MeetUp to hear final details related to Rally Week. DTR merchants received event maps and “Welcome Biker” posters and tips to help prepare for Bikes Blues & BBQ which is set for September 20 – 23. Karen Wagaman, vice president for Rogers Lowell Chamber, welcomed the crowd and thanked TxAR House for hosting the group and Java Dudes Coffee Company for providing coffee.
