The Sound of Silence: The Ozark Beer Co. Silent Disco
All the buzz: Ozark Beer Company is hosting their first ever Silent Disco on Friday, December 22nd from 9:30 - 11:30. The taproom, located at 109 N. Arkansas St., Rogers, AR., will be open late for Silent Disco goers to enjoy the nighttime vibes and groovy music from local DJ Afrosia. Along with music, glow-in-the-dark face and body painting will be available from artist Viviana Pagan.
Getting wired: A silent disco is an event where listeners immerse themselves in music through wireless headphones that are synced up to one station or in this case one DJ. The listener is also in control of how loud the music is and can take a break from it at any time.
Rogers Historical Museum Receives SE Museums Conference Technology Award
Rogers Historical Museum is the recipient of the 2023 Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC) Gold Award for Gallery Installations, Under $1,000 Budget Category. The SEMC Technology Competition recognizes excellence in the use of technology within Southeastern United States museums and celebrates the accomplishments of innovative work.
The award-winning entry is a music interactive included in the museum’s temporary exhibit, “A Parade of Apple Blossoms.” This exhibit highlighted the Apple Blossom Festivals of the 1920s that were a grand celebration of the apple industry in northwest Arkansas. These festivals featured elaborate costumes, Apple Blossom Queen contests, period music, regional tours, and more that turned Rogers and the surrounding area into “A Parade of Apple Blossoms” each spring.
Northwest Arkansas Jazz Society Jazz Jam Returns to Levi's
The Northwest Arkansas Jazz Society (NAJS) is hosting it’s next Jazz Jam Session at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14 at Levi’s Gastrolounge & Lowbar at 224 S. 2nd Street, in in Downtown Rogers. The house rhythm section will be the Jake Hertzog Trio, with musicians from the audience sitting in to jam.
Levi’s Gastrolounge has partnered with the NAJS to provide the perfect venue for a monthly jazz jam. Young musicians as well as seasoned pros share the bandstand for an evening of great music and plenty of surprises. This hip, basement bistro serves up great food and drink to complement the music, and it is free and open to all.
