More than 600 anglers participated in this year’s 2012 Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce 21st Annual Bradford Marine & ATV Buddy Bass Tournament.  The tournament was held on Beaver Lake in Rogers Saturday, May 12.  The winning team, with a total weight of 17.44 pounds, was Brashers and Parsons with Hook Line & Sinker.  The team took home a brand new Tracker Bass boat, motor, and trailer thanks to Bradford Marine & ATV. 

         In the team division, DB Productions, Inc. won the Division III, two boat entry with a total team weight of 16.11 pounds.  Bekaert Corporation took home the Division II, four boat entry trophy with a total team weight 31.49 pounds. Hook Line & Sinker also took home the trophy for the Division I, eight boat entry with a total team weight of 74.87 pounds.  The big bass of the tournament weighed in at 5.11 pounds and was caught by the team of Mahaffey and Mahaffey with Mahaffey and Mahaffey.  The Big Bass winners took home $1000 and two commemorative Daisy BB Guns.

        Proceeds from the tournament serve to fund the economic development efforts of the Chamber.  The fastest way to a better economy is to create new jobs!  Over the past 21 years, those efforts have resulted in over 12,000 new jobs and over $1 billion in capital investments.  The tournament alone brings in over $130,000 to the Rogers economy.

            This year a Youth Fishing Event was held in conjunction with the annual Buddy Bass Tournament.  A total of 127 kids ages 4 - 15 took part in the event. Each participant took home a free
t-shirt, fishing pole and goodie bag thanks to Bass Pro.
