2000 Population Growth

Rogers recorded the largest growth in population in Northwest Arkansas with a 41.6% increase in 1980-1990.  New stats released show that Rogers had a 57.3% population growth from 1990-2000.  During that same period, Benton County ranked first in new residence growth.  Over 50% of the total population growth in Arkansas is attributed to Benton and Washington counties, and the population is expected to double in the next twenty years.  Rogers has a population of 38,829, Benton County has a population of 153,406, and the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area) has a population of 311,121 (2000 U.S. Census Bureau, March 2001).
