COMMUNITY IMPACT
Community Impact has had an introductory meeting and is tentatively planning a late spring event designed to highlight some of the most relevant and pressing issues facing the region as well as to discuss the region’s strategic plan for the future as identified by the Northwest Arkansas Council. Formal planning for the event will begin after the first of the year. Our next meeting is yet to be determined. I would encourage any NWAEL members interested in learning more about Community Impact to contact Matt Hicks at mhicks@mylibertybank.com or (479) 872-7040.

GREEN TEAM
The Benton County Sherriff's office has volunteered to provide the labor to disassemble and paint our bikes. We are taking the first batch out there this week for them to work on. We have scheduled our first bike assembly clinic for Sunday, February 13th at the Rogers Activity Center from 2 to 5 pm and this will be a family event and educational. We should have our program document finalized and approved shortly and will then be seeking partnerships with local bike shops and enthusiasts to help us with the assembly portion of the program as well as any other support they might provide. Clint Hopper is ordering the paint and we have decided on yellow and as close to the color as the mats and poles are painted on the trail system as we can get. We currently have approximately seven or eight bikes to be refurbished and place on the trails and Barney Hayes is expecting a dozen more or so to come from the Rogers Police Department by the middle of January. We hope to have the program launched around the first of March. |
